Affiliate Marketing for Dummies - Part 1

What is affiliate marketing anyway?

Very simply, affiliate marketing is to promote someone else's product or services. It is not necessary to close as sale in order to make a commission. It depends on what the merchant is offering their affiliates. For example, you can be paid by sending visitor to their web site. As long a the visit take some action, like fill up a simple form, you will be paid a commission. That means you generate a lead for the merchant. The simple straight forward affiliate marketing is simple pay per sale. You make a sale, you are paid the commission. You are like a sales agent.

Important part of affiliate marketing is that you do not have to handle the customer service or support. You do not have to handle the warranty. All those are provided by the merchant. You also cannot make any claims about the warranty etc. Pay Per Sale affiliate marketing is the simplest to understand and is most suitable for beginners. So, I will focus on how you can get started on becoming an affiliate marketer.

Among the products, it is "simplest" to sell Information Product. I put the word "simplest" in quote because I am not referring to the ease of making a sale. I am referring to ease of setting up and start selling. You can easily set it up within half and hour. That is what I mean by easiest.

The simplest way to sell information product is to sell for Clickbank. Clickbank is a large wholesaler of information product in digital format. To start, just simple sign up for a clickbank account. Here is the link to sign up: Sign Up Clickbank Account.

Once You have signed up, you can start to look for product to sell. There are thousands of products in the Click Bank. Go the the market place and search.
